Automatic Donations with Purchases through Amazon Smile!

Thursday Jan 8th, 2015 - 2:36 PM | Service |
The world’s largest online store, Amazon.com, offers a special promotion in which it will donate 0.5 percent (five-tenths of 1 percent) of each eligible purchase to a designated charity. The Church of God, a Worldwide Association, is now registered as one of those charities, which means that from all of the eligible purchases members make through the smile.amazon.com program, Amazon will donate 0.5 percent of the price to the Church.

Our first quarterly donation from Amazon just came in. It was small—a little over $200. But considering that only a small number of members are currently participating, we easily see how that number could quickly rise! This is a free income source for the Church, so if you shop online through Amazon.com, why not take advantage of this simple way to lend extra support?

If you already have an Amazon account, all you need to do is use this link: http://smile.amazon.com/ch/27-4366885.

If you don’t have an Amazon account, all you have to do is register and set up an account with Amazon Smile by following these easy steps:

  • Go to smile.amazon.com.
  • Click on “Create an account” and provide the details requested.
  • You’ll be prompted to select a charity the first time you sign in. Enter “Church of God a Worldwide Association” in the “or pick your own charitable organization” search field, and then click on the “Search” icon.
  • Click on the “Select” icon to the right of “Church Of God A Worldwide Association Inc.”

From then on, whenever you want to shop at Amazon.com, go to smile.amazon.com (you may be prompted to do so if you go to amazon.com instead), and a donation based on your eligible purchases will automatically be assigned to the Church.

Thanks for your interest and help in this simple but valuable way!
